Auditorium rental includes services of one (1) Audtorium Technician. Other fees may apply for usage (i.e. rental of the Steinway piano). Full day rehearsals for non-profit groups will be charged one-half of a day's rental fee.

Thank you for your interest in hosting a catering event on the North Iowa Area Community College campus. NIACC offers a combination of attractive facilities and a talented catering staff to make your event very special. All food and beverages served on NIACC's campus will be provided by NIACC Food Service & Catering unless an exemption (Right of First Refusal) has been granted. This is a per event process.
NIACC must have a guarantee by 1:00 pm at least 4 business days prior to the event (not including the day of the event). We will accept an increase in your guarantee in less than 4 business days prior to the event with the exception that we may not be able to increase the quantity of every menu item, but we will serve a substitution.
You will be responsible for 100% of your guarantee or actual number of guests served, whichever is greater. If a guarantee is not provided, your last estimate becomes your guarantee. The guarantee is a firm committment by the client and will be strictly enforced. We will require 14 days prior notice with the menu, as well as 14 days prior notice with an educated guess for the attendees. We will require 14 days notice with the serving time; if the serving time changes, additional charges may occur.
"On Your Own" for Lunch
For all events that are "on your own" for lunch, NIACC must have a guest count not less than 24 hours before the day of the event. For "on your own" events with 35 guests or more, and they plan on staying for lunch at NIACC, they will be required to eat from a limited menu.
A food cancellation charge of 40% will be assessed for any function that is cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled event. The cancellation fee covers expenses incurred in ordering perishable food items and labor that has already been scheduled. Special order items or other expenses that are unable to be cancelled will be charged to the client. If campus is closed due to weather conditions, Food Service is not available.
In the event that the performance of this agreement is subject to conditions beyond our control (i.e. acts of God, war, fire, weather disasters or any other emergency that would make it impossible to provide service for you), this contract may be terminated without penalty to either party and a written notice of such incident will be recorded.
Outside Event Coordinator Policies
We do require that outside event coordinators, decorators, caterers, etc. do not enter the kitchen facilities, give directions to NIACC staff members, change set-ups, or change anything that pertains to the menu or facilities setup. Prior approval and all decisions in regard to the food are made by the Food Service Director or the person designated in charge; however, we do accept suggestions.
Food Allergies and Medical Concerns
Food Service does not prepare foods or take any responsibility for those with allergies or those who are allergic to certain ingredients and/or food types. NIACC's kitchen is not a gluten free environment. NIACC will do our best to accommodate your food needs.
NIACC Food Service & Catering is not available for Holidays, including Memoral and Labor Day weekends. If a holiday falls on a Monday or Friday the weekend will also be considered a Holiday.
For catering events that exceed $1,000, the NIACC room fees will be waived. All social parties are limited to a 4 hour time period. If the client would like to extend the 4 hour limit, they may do so at a cost of $175 per hour.
The food prices reflected are current, but NIACC reserves the right to confirm pricing when your bill is finalized. Prices are subject to change.
To be in line with catering industry standards, any food not consumed at the event cannot be removed and no credit will be given for unused food or under-attended events. However, a credit will be given for unused, uncompromised bottled soda, water and juice.
NIACC Food Service & Catering cannot guarantee the quality of any food held more than 15 minutes past the arranged serving time. With the standards of the Board of Health & Food Safety, all food items will be picked up from the event within 2 hours of the serving time.
